Apple (and other) smartwatches can go for a jog 10km from your locker and get notifications because they have LTE. They can be on the other side of the globe from your phone and still get notifications. This watch doesn't have LTE, so it can only get the notifications via bluetooth, which has only a few meters of range. After two years the Fenix 6 showed problems with the barometer, I contacted to Garmin Argentina and they replaced the barometer sensor (whit cost). Since I did not trust the repair, I sold the watch and bought a Garmin Fenix 7 Sapphire. Today, 6 months after bought the Fenix 7, yesterday started with barometer problems.
For Garmin Connect, first tap the ‘ . . . ‘ icon, then select ‘Garmin Devices’ and select your device, and finally choose your WIFI network and select ‘Connect’. For Garmin Express, launch the program and select ‘Device’ then ‘Tools & Content’. Finally, choose ‘Utilities” and select the network.

So, I think in some possibilities: There is something wrong with Garmin Connect Mobile, and it needs to be updated for the 645M firmware version 4, for Android 6.0.0 (that I use in Samsung J5 - it can't be upgraded for newer Android versions); The Garmin Fenix 6 Pro Solar is nothing if not comprehensive, though. You can customise the visible displays, and create your own from scratch using the “other” option in the workout menu. No phone call or voice assistant support; $900 at Best Buy.
