We replaced the vacuum pump and carried out a road test, everything seemed OK so we handed the van back to its customer. Unfortunately the customer only managed about 60 miles before the exact same fault occurred again. Once the van was back with us we removed the new (genuine Ford) vacuum pump to find it had broken up exactly the same as before.

The 1.0 suffers with P132B and tends to be a failed one way valve in the vac pump, but I'm unsure (without looking) if the 2.0 has a similar vac' layout or not.This may not be your issue but its a simple 1 minute job to see the condition of this little rubber valve on any 1.0 Ecoboost engine and will save you spending almost £500 on a vacuum pump or turbo! and even if you dont have a issue my engine is 9 years old that rubber valve is right above a turbo getting very hot and cold everyday i can imagine 239 satisfied customers. The 1.0 ECOboost has a vacuum operated wastegate that is powered by an engine driven vacuum pump and controlled by an electronic control valve. The wastegate itself can easily be checked by applying vacuum to the hose pillar of the wastegate (for example with a large syringe).
That being said, stuff happens. Fuel pumps go bad and I'll tell you that there's never a bit of rhyme or reason to it. There's also very little, if any, foreshadowing to a failure. It sounds like the fuel pump may have failed. However I'm wondering which one as the the 1.0 has a high pressure pump driven off the cam and an in-tank pump as well
