Thoughtson 2011 Volvo C70. I’m looking to purchase a used 2011 Volvo C70 from a dealership but I’ve never owned a Volvo before. I know they have a rep for not making cars that last long and that are expensive to fix, but I also hear they are some of the safest cars that you can buy. I would love to hear thoughts and opinions on this model
MostVolvos are AWD. They’re very good and quite reliable. I’ve had two 2.5l XC70s make it deep into the 250k mile area. Then they were sold to someone who drove it further. We currently have a 3.2L XC70 and it’s the most comfortable and lowest cost of ownership car we’ve ever owned.
TheVolvo is noisier, has harder suspension, rougher shifts and seems to accelerate better than the Lexus. The Lexus is incredibly comfortable, as good as an S-Class, but I dislike the centre console and it's more expensive than a Volvo. In terms of maintenance, both the Volvo and Lexus seem pretty cheap to maintain. Its an executive car that’s aimed at comfort, not trying to out drive a Porsche 911. No. When Volvo designed the car they specifically said “we want to make a car that’s not good.”. As far as sportiness goes, Volvo ditched that train of thought a few years ago. They 100% are about limiting fun for safety nowadays.
Tobe fair, most cars start needing seals and hoses around 100k miles. Rubber degrades, it happens. Some brands are better than others, and while Volvo isn't at the top of the list it's far from the bottom. They do seem to use high quality parts from good manufacturers.
BeforeI purchased my first car, I drove my parents Volvos. I love Volvos dearly and they hold a very very special place in my heart, but some parts did scare me away from purchasing a new Volvo for myself. We have a 2020 S60 and a 2018 XC90. Both T5 momentum and both acquired brand new on a lease.ForS80 it's a whole different story, but you still have to keep an eye on it. The normal service cycle from Volvo doesn't include the transmission oil changes, but in fact, those are a must and should be done at least every 60000 miles. On a vehicle with 80000+ miles, you have to change the transmission oil ASAP. In your case, it should be
Oldold Volvos, like P1800s and Amazons, are the motherfucking tits. I love those cars. Old Volvos (240, 740, those guys) are a little bit on the boring side but absolute tanks -Likethe S80 and XC60, the Volvo XC90 enjoyed a good reception from critics and consumers. The XC90 has a reliability score of 3.5 out of 5.0 with an ownership cost of $851, compared to $807 for luxury midsize SUVs and $652 across all vehicle models. While the XC90 is one of the most expensive Volvos to maintain, it has an
